Getting My Core On! Week Two of Core De Force

I can’t believe that the first two weeks have flown by so quickly!

I was surprised the first week by the work outs that were not about punching and kicking. However, you need to build a strong core and technique to be able to do the punching and kicking. I understand that.

The second week introduced me to what is my favorite of the routines so far: MMA Power. Yay lots of punching and kicking!!! That made me awesomely sore. I know it was targeting my tush and core. To quote Joel and Jericho:

“Who doesn’t want a nice butt?”

“Nobody!”

I’m still suffering from lower back with crack so I am all about exercises that target my glutes.

I was great with the nutrition program and followed it exactly except for the night we did early Thanksgiving. That being said, I had a Tablespoon of mashed potatoes, 1 Tablespoon of stuffing, and a sliver of sugar free Pumpkin pie. Everything else was in the plan. Not too shabby!

The last day of the week was definitely my favorite. It’s typically an Active Recovery Day. I switched that to Saturday instead because Sunday I got to work out live with Joel and Jericho!

I had to snap that quickly before they got on stage so not the best picture, but I had a blast! They are so sweet and funny and it was a memorable day.

As for my measurements and weigh in….not a whole lot has changed on the outside. I was lying in bed thinking about that this morning and all I can figure is that since i have been working out 5-7 days a week for 3 years, and following the container plan for most of the last 2 years, I’m maintaining. Inside, however, my core feels so tight! I love how much stronger I feel. When I was at the live event we were talking about how there is an emotional side to this program too. It really makes you push yourself and can change you inside as well as outside.

I’m looking forward to seeing where I am at the end of week three. This week is doubles so it’s going to be extra challenging. I can do it!

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone 🙂
